Troubleshooting
"The
transmitter (unit on the wall) is beeping/ chirping/ squealing."
A beeping transmitter is typically a sign of compromised wire.
Check
your transmitter first. Make sure all connections seem complete
and there are no wires detached from either the transmitter or
the surge protector (if you have one).
If there has been any work done in the yard (aeration, landscaping,
construction, snowplowing, etc.) you need to check those areas
for any exposed wires. We can send you a self-repair kit if you
are able to visually locate both ends of the wire.
If
you know there has been work done near the fence line (or the
connector wire from the garage or house) but are unable to see
any issues you need to call the office to schedule service.
WE
MUST HAVE the transmitter beeping to locate the problem area(s).
Understandably, the beeping is an irritation if left on for a
long period of time. If you have a scheduled service call the
transmitter must be plugged in and beeping when we arrive. If
you plug it in the morning of your service call and the beeping
has stopped, please call the office immediately to cancel your
appointment. If we arrive for a scheduled service call and the
transmitter is unplugged or not beeping you will not be charged
a full repair fee but will still incur a trip charge.
